Arab Startup Community

Where can I find a community that gathers all startup founders whom have already started their business (up and running); in which we can all talk about our businesses and the products and services we offer and learn from our experience? It would be encouraging to see a list of startups and be able to directly communicate with their founders. I know many users here are startup founders.. but its quite hard to learn of each user and engage in one-on-one discussions.. I would like to have someone from a business I admire to be able to specifically answer me for example..

Well I think this is what YallaStartup.org is trying to establish... Also (at the risk of being voted-down) there is www.arabcrunch.net which aims to bring together Arab startups.

And you should probably consider attending www.arabnet.me, you'll be able to do everything you mentioned, but in a non-virtual offline kind of way ;)

Yes.. Yallastartup is doing a great job and this has been very helpful.. however, i think its mission is to help bring all us entrepreneurs and startup founders to engage in discussions and encourage us to start.. yalla startup.. and arabcrunch does include some of this.. but i was thinking more of a community site that simply listed all arab startups with a summary of each and their founders.. and in a way that each founder could engage in more one-on-one discussions...

SMN, I think what you are suggesting can be answered by some kind of directory listing of all the startups, along with their founders and contact info/direct communication means, which can be used to then interact with those founders specifically. I think it is a very useful idea, and is in line with YallaStartup's vision.

Elie, Habib and Sami are the 3 people behind YallaStartup and they should be reading this post and can probably answer to whether this is something they have planned.

Yes Des.. that's exactly what I was referring to.. a directory of some sort that would include a community of all startup founders with summary of each business... how they started.. what theyve accomplished.. how they did it... and then direct contact info in which we can engage in a more direct approach of communication... It would be great if Elie, Habib and Samer would consider this as I also think it is very much in line with YallaStartup's vision

Yes, I am aware of StartupArabia's listing.. but it's not exactly what I'm looking for..
