Do Ads conflict with a "Donate" Button ?

Interesting question, I've never actually thought about it.

I think if the Donate button was right next to the ads then I'd look at it dubiously and make some sarcastic remark in my head. If it's on another page or section of the site, then maybe it wouldn't look so bad.

Overall though, I don't think your average user will necessarily relate the two to each other. If they like the product/service (which I assume is free) and want to be altruistic they are likely to donate, regardless of the ads.

If you really want to know though, it's probably best to just try it out. Some A/B testing.. 1 month with Donate + Ads and another with just Donate and see what the propensity for donations works out to be.

I'm not familiar with any MENA based Donation platforms... but sounds like something someone here should start working on ;)

لا مشكلة. شخصيا أستخدمهما معا في مدونتي ميولوج. وقد حصلت قبلا على تبرعات وعلى إعلانات. لكن لا يجب الإكثار من الإعلانات بحيث تصبح مزعجة للقراء، بل يجب أن تكون هادفة، ويمكن التعامل مع الإعلانات كأسلوب تبرع غير مباشر.

yes there might be a slight conflect in the way DONATE works , because free services across the web are not free for the producer , or lets say the provider and while you as a consumer get it for free he\she ( the provider ) have to pay for it at least to register a domain and a webspace for you to get the service .

Donating provides or particpaes in the fees mention above and others depending on site type and as much as the DONATE botton seems to be not that pro. its less irritating and does not annoy visitors or users of ur site like ads and popups do .

the conflect is that you can get cash from advertising on your site and thats being independence and self provider when it comes to cash , but donating means you need help or u ask for it to not hold the whole responsabilty of funding your site ....

i talk too much lol , anyways , you can use both but it seems despirate .
