How do you prepare for a new feature in Blogger, like what are the steps you take as a PM to get a feature into blogger from the point where you listen to user's feedback until the engineer works on it and then released to new users. How long is that cycle on average ? |

Thanks for this great opportunity. I have been using blogger as a blogging platform for more than 4 years now. And i would love to see blogger become more mature. I have been contemplating switching to Wordpress for a long time, but I was reluctant because I know it will affect my Google index especially that my blog is not very well known, so such a step can be risky to your visibility on Google search result page. It's true that you will reclaim your index after switching, but it's just cumbersome and time consuming. Blogger lacks many professional options that Wordpress offers out of the box. Are there any foreseeable plans for blogger to become a fully mature blogging platform that will compete with Wordpress? Here are my top requested feature list:

We know that the main income for bloggers is online advertising, but in MENA area this industry is still very small comparing it to EU or US and even some parts of Asia. My question is what are your plans to solve this issue, Blogger and Google behinds it is the biggest player in this field, and if Google makes a step tens of other companies will follow it. So the question again is, what are the next plans for online adverting for bloggers in MENA area. Thanks Sami, Siobhan and YallaStartup. |

Does Google see an opportunity in utilizing blogs to uncover and remedy some real social problems in the MENA region? Blogs are a most straight forward way for people to relay their day-to-day experiences. And with tags and smart search, you have got a whole lot of content that is just waiting to be capitalized upon for the generation of new solutions. And, as demonstrated by the novelty of the Arabia 2.0 event, and by the statements of Vincent Cerf (VP and Chief Internet Evangelist) http://bit.ly/dhZ7Kn, Google appreciates the growth potential in the MENA region (82M users expected by 2013), and considers innovation as a vital obligation for leaders that can positively influence the region’s ongoing social and economic development. |
