How do I think through the decision between founding a startup vs. working for startup? What are the pros and cons of each option?

A few thoughts: 1- you have an idea or are directly working with somebody with complementary skills who happens to have the idea. Working at a startup only requires that you be excited about the idea, really, and that you have some thoughts on how to expand on the original idea

2- the skill set required is usually different, as the founder (or at least one of them) needs to focus on the business/investment/setup/projection side of things, whereas the "doers" or the startup extended team will need to work on the actual idea.

3- the risks/rewards are much higher, usually, for the founders vs. the team

When you work for a startup you know how things work there. And it gives you a clear definition about your life after you start you own.
