hOw can I decide what font to use. I mean does it matter what kind of site it is, are there more "fun" fonts and more "serious" ones ? The question applies to both English and Arabic fonts. |

Have a look at the typography package in Blueprint CSS -- this does a lot of the work for you. No matter what, please don't use Comic Sans :) |

I believe that the font you're using depends on the style and theme of the website you're building, but make sure that you will end up using a web-safe font. The list of web-safe fonts: http://www.fonttester.com/web_safe_fonts.html The most commonly used English and Arabic font is Arial, and it's a sans-serif font, personally I like Trebuchet MS it's a more elegant one. For the Arabic websites, Arial is a nice one but it's small so you need to have a bigger font when it's Arabic, you can also use Tahoma but it's not Mac friendly one when it's Arabic and it's more funky. Although I never liked Georgia which is a serif font, but I used it with my personal website and blog as it goes with the style of the design. The funkiest english font is Comic sans but it's not a cool one at all! |
