I have an idea for a software business. The solution is already offered by other large vendors in the market but want to find a way to offer something cutting edge above these. The reason they are successful is that they are very well known and not necessarily because their solution is better. As a small startup business, how can I compete against these large companies and gain trust in my product. Do I have a chance at going against these other solutions and finding a customer base of my own? Or would it be too difficult to compete against these companies and end up not successful? |

Live the problem, you must live the agony of the users, to know where are the points that are not covered by the big players. once you lived it, you can detect points of weaknesses or even new markets that are not catered by the current market players. So simply if you have a need not solved in the market you have a chance, if it is just a hunch, then you need to think this out more. |

I love this question and I totally agree with Slayer. You must have a problem to solve and not just replicate what's already out there. If they can't provide what you are looking for, extend their service and solve your problems yourself. |
