I personally had higher expectations from the product, and not a macho iPhone / iPod for the following reasons:
1- Multitasking: I can't believe that no applications can run in the background aside from the iPod player and Safari.
2- Adapters: the necessity to purchase additional hardware for necessary technology like USB and SD Cards.
3- Flash: Apple is still insisting not to support Adobe Flash for obvious reasons. That is a major drawback when browsing, but I am closely following Adobe's solution for that, which is promised to be delivered anytime.
4- GPS: missing!
Having said this, I will personally buy it for the following reasons:
1- I generally quickly embrace new cool gadgets.
2- When the iPhone was first out, i was not sure I was going to buy until I saw it in action. That will most likely be the case with the iPad.
3- Price is hot, not sure about ME telcos pricing strategy though. It wasn't promising with the iPhone.
4- Browsing by touch... doesn't get more real.
5- Get up close and personal with the way developers are going to drive it.
