What are typical charaterstics of successful web products?

I believe that the information architecture, usability and interactivity of the website are the key factors, the uniqueness of the idea comes next. If you have the unique idea and the ideal user experience then you have done 80% of the work.

Next step is to start promoting your service and gaining loyal visitors, a friend of mine once told me that I should make my visitors live on the website; the social media and interactivity roles shows up here.

I think:

• There is a need for such a product.
• Simple and attractive UI especially in the last 3 years.
• Marketing, marketing and marketing plays major role to convince non-tech people to use it.

Simple points : - Market demand - User Experience - Marketing - and as Al-Masoudi said : a Revenue model

For sure there are many factors involve in a successful web product some of them are:

• good idea
• very good execution
• usability
• clear revenue model
• user understanding and communication
• sociality
• marking the product
• the team

I think that there is a single factor that all web startups need to become a successful company: A revenue model !
