If you were to go back in time and restart your start-up, what single piece of information about entrepreneurship and/or running a business that you know today would you wish to have known back then? Or similarly, if your best friend decides to start a new project what would be your top piece of advice to give? |

عدم التفكير في التمويل منذ اليوم الأول. يجب تجاهل مسألة البحث عن مستثمرين في البداية ويجب التركيز في تنفيذ المشروع أولا. أغلبية المشاريع لا تحتاج إلى تمويل لأجل البداية، ويمكنها أن تستمر لفترة دون حاجة حقيقية للتمويل. التفكير في التمويل منذ اليوم الأول يقتل الفكرة وعوض أن يتم التركيز على البناء يضيع الوقت في البحث عن مستثمرين إلى أن يمل صاحب الفكرة ويترك المشروع. هذا هو الخطأ الذي ارتكبته منذ سنتين تقريبا وأدى بي إلى التكاسل عن تنفيذ إحدى أفكاري. الآن تعلمت الكثير، في جوانب كثيرة، وأهم ما تعلمته هو معرفة تمكنني من تنفيذ المشروع بأقل تكلفة ممكنة، وبالتالي تأجيل الاحتياج إلى مستثمر خارجي، والاعتماد فقط على نفسي لتنفيذ المشروع في أسرع وقت ممكن. |

1- Focus on your customer's pain points, not your short term financial goal. In time, the first will take care of the second 2- Choose your team wisely, and have a clear contract in place. Nothing like a stressful experience (which startups can be--almost always), to bring out the worst in people 3- Have an exit strategy ready and know when to get out. Some people are better initiators of businesses, others are better managers 4- If you got a good idea, don't wait w yalla start something:-) |

Not reading about "Lean Startup" by Eric Reis http://www.startuplessonslearned.com/. This methodology combines much of customer development strategies by Steve Blank, agile development and lean manufacturing of toyota and best of all the lean startup methodology is very cheap to bootstrap and validate the market fit ;) |
