I love Google but recently they have been entering every market that is outthere even to develop their own phones. How big of a threat would this be to us startups, especially in the middle east where it's even tougher to raise funds and be able to operate properly. I am not looking to compete with Google but I am afraid that Google would enter my market after I spent time and money on it. What do you think ? Also facebook seems to be doing new things and could be scary since they caputre the time of a large majority of the users, but I am more concerned about google. |

From my personal experience I would say go for it :) At the end of the day it's all about execution, obsession about users, and focus. The biggest advantage that startups have over big companies is speed, we can do things much faster then any of Google, Facebook or other big company. Things take forever in big companies to go public where in startups and using agile dev. techniques we can have something up and running in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't recommend going head to head, but if you see a gap and the passion and will to build a powerful product then definitely go for it ! |

Yes.. it's definitely concerning. But look at it positively..
I'd say go for it... and worry more about local niche competition. Life is too short to worry about whether Google is going to take over. |

المنافسة تكون غالبا مفيدة، وكثيرا ما تكون ممتعة. ما فائدة ريادة الأعمال إن لم يكن فيها بعض المنافسة والمتعة؟ شخصيا أتمنى أن تنافسني يوما شركة مثل جوجل. هذا يعني أولا أن السوق الذي أتوجه إليه كبير كفاية ليسيل له لعاب الشركات الكبيرة، ويعني ثانيا أن فكرتي قابلة للنجاح. إضافة إلى أن دخول منافس كبير واحد، يمكن أن يفتح لك باب لاتفاقيات (تعاون، اندماج، استحواذ) مع منافسي منافسك. كجواب مباشر عن سؤالك؛ نعم بالإمكان منافسة شركات مثل جوجل. كوني مقتنعة أولا بفكرتك، اقتربي أكثر من عملائك المستهدفين، تحركي بسرعة، واصلي الإبداع دائما ولا تنافسي جوجل. بل دعي جوجل تنافسك. |
