I'm a venture capitalist in Silicon Valley and answering this question more based on my experience here. I imagine this process might be slightly different in MENA. In the US the paste of fundraising process for an early stage company depends on a few main factors:

1) How easily investors buy into the idea? How much they really believe this is “the idea” that will pick up? 2) If the team and founders are the right group to build a scalable business 3) How well connected the CEO / founders are? How easily they can connect to right investors? 4) How good the founder is in communicating his/her idea and convincing others that this is the next Google of the world?

Typically this process will take 4 to 8 weeks. However, other factors such as economic environment can impact the paste of the process. For instance, within the last year and half, with all the economical downturn, investors are more skeptical and invested in fewer companies.

This process will be different for the next rounds of financing of the company.
