I can only answer for Jordan, where unfortunately it's not straightforward at all. Jordanian labor law states that a non-Jordanian can only be hired when the position cannot be filled by a local. In the case of engineers, it's certainly a skill with market surplus... it would be almost impossible to claim that you can't hire the position locally.

The only exception to this rule is if your set-up in Jordan is a regional non-practicing branch (شركة أجنبية غير عاملة ) in which case the requirement is for 2/5ths of the workforce to be Jordanian - but note that such an entity cannot conduct business within Jordan, it would effectively be an offshore.

Hope this helps!

It depends on what do you need. If you need someone to work from home is simple, but if you want them to come to USA or UK, you need to provide them accommodation, a big salary and more others. Anunturi cazare
