I am looking for legal templates to give my friends and family investors. Any pointers to good ones?

I don't think there is legal templates for startup investing in Arab world :) you should consider asking a lawyer or a friend reviewing your own template.

If you are outside Arab world, or if you have entrepreneurship associations in your city, go and ask them to apply so they will give you tons of papers including FREE legal template :D

And your last choice (or maybe first) is uncle google.com

You can start with these US documents and work from there:

I would love to see some MENA equivalents!

Perhaps a good idea would be a community project that aims to build templates for the Arab world, taking inspiration from the existing ones used in the West.

Any lawyers out there with knowledge about the internet sector that feel like taking the lead on this one? :-)

Be very weary in using templates from other countries just because they make common sense. The reason is that a lot of the underlying legal principles might not apply or might apply differently in the MENA region. Some of these principles might even differ from one country to another within the MENA region itself.

Your documents have to abide by local laws unless your contract is an international contract and falls under the juridisction of an international or foreign court.

The safest course of action is to hook up with one of the following:

  • A knowledgeable and ethical lawyer.
  • A Business incubation organization.
  • Small Business Consultancy firm.
  • Local Governmental Resources.

Hope this helps.

There are numerous sites that list templates for start-ups. Type on google: "start-up business plans " and you should find some cool stuff. There is portal that seems to be fairly new called ibtikarati.com where they list some free templates for entrepreneurs.

This offers the investor "stronger" voting powers and controls order of payment on an exit. Using this model, the investor can own less than majority while retaining control wow gold over the business.
