Hi!

We have a technical website that has been running for more than one year, and now it's putting leg on the first step towards making good load of profit. You may picture our site as an internet-based business (to some extent) that got the attention of a big technical company in Saudi Arabia (60% of the site's monthly 100k+ visits come from Saudi Arabia) and and it wants to put advertisements on our site (large banner, main page). We almost know nothing about advertising pricing esp. when dealing with such big companies, we don't wanna be overpricing nor underpricing. So, we are seeking your help fellas in adequately estimating good pricing based on the site's situation and the Saudi technical market, and the de facto, if any, pricing system there.

Cheers.

Yes, usually you can approach different methods to price your traffic properly:

  1. Using Google AdSense. Subscribe to Google AdSense and place the Ad codes to your site and make sure to choose banners/text Ad codes, then run the codes at your site for two months after that you will start getting an accumulated data about your banners/text Ads then you try to get the eCPM number for each banner size (example: eCPM for size 728x90) at that time you can tell how much you need to sell your CPM for specific size. This is not 100% accurate method but it's good base to start learning about your traffic value. Also you can let your clients to advertise at your site directly through Google AdWords.

  2. Mystery Shopping. You can use this snaky way to get banners pricing from sites similar to your site business by pretending that you are a potential advertiser and interested to learn about the banners cost for specific site, and based on these data you can tell how much you need to charge your clients, but make sure you have similar traffic volume for that site.

For your information, the banners at site homepage usually is the most expensive than internal pages, also the big banners are more expensive than smaller ones.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
