I am running a blog called SteitBlog and I am planning to start looking for advertiser/sponsors for it. I would love to know your feedback about advertisers in the region and how do they look into advertising on Blogs. Are they willing to do so at the first level? What are their main concerns, is it pageviews, traffic sources, unique visitors or what exactly? |

آه عزيزي فراس! ما يزال المعلنون في العالم العربي قليلي الاهتمام بمجال الإعلان الالكتروني. هناك اهتمام يتزاد، شيئا فشيئا، ويحتمل أن ينمو الإنفاق العربي على الإعلانات الالكترونية خلال هذه السنة والسنوات القادمة، لكن، للأسف، توزيع الإعلانات عملية تحتكرها شركات الإعلان، وهذه الأخيرة غالبا ما تفضل التعامل مع المواقع العربية الكبيرة (البوابات) و.. المنتديات! وهنا أنتقل للشطر الثاني من سؤالك، لأقول بأن الاهتمام الرئيسي، للمعلنين هو عدد الصفحات المشاهدة. توجه المعلنين للمدونات نادر جدا. ولكي تحصل على الإعلانات أو الرعاية لمدونتك، سوف تحتاج إلى كثير من الحركة، وتتصل بشكل مباشر بالشركات، خاصة الفروع العربية للشركات العالمية، وبصفة أخص ركز على شركات الإتصالات، فهي الأكثر انفاقا على الاعلانات الالكترونية. إذا كان لمدونتك عدد كبير من القراء، يمكنك التواصل مع إحدى الوكلات الإعلانية التي توزع الإعلانات الإلكترونية، للاشتراك لديهم والتمكن من المشاركة في نشر الحملات الإعلانية التي يشرفون عليها. |

Just focus on the multinational companies that works in the middle east in business related to your audiences interests. most of the advertisers in the middle east cares about the statistics rather than the quality, so your Alexa rank is important as well as other web statistics ( Visitors ..). In the beginning, give Google Adsence a try ! till you find your advertisers. |
Thanks a lot for your feedback! I wrote you a loooong reply, but for some reason couldn't click on "Add Comment" and lost it :'( snif. So here I go again: Regarding the book, I initially printed 500 copies, which got sold in 3 weeks, so I reprinted another 500 which are doing great! (top #5 in Lebanon in Virgin Megastore). As for the hire me button, it's a great idea that i'll definitely add as soon as i'm done with the projects i currently have on hand. (i have a full time job on top of all this, so it can get pretty crowded on me.) i should probably test adsense and see how it goes... if it doesn't work then i'd just remove it. thanks a lot, again, for your detailed feedback :D :) hope to see u around on the blog :) |
